Auditions on Aug 27 are for grades 4-5 at 9:30 AM and grades 6-8 at 1 PM, open only to those who reside within Deerfield Park District boundaries or attend school in Deerfield. St. Anne Community Theatre: Auditions for the summer production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, April 25th and 26th, parish center gymnasium, 120 N Ela, Barrington. Auditions open to actors between the ages of 10-19 years. No appointment needed. No paid positions. Be prepared to sing 16 bars of an upbeat song. Bring sheet music. Prepare a 2-minute monologue (memorization optional). You will also be asked to learn a dance routine. Tap experience is helful but not required. Show dates July 22-24, 28-30.
Emil de Roserio Piano Concerto Competition: Presented by NWSMTA and Harper College, preliminary round April 2nd at Performance Arts Center, 1200 W Algonquin Rd, Palatine. Applications must be postmarked by March 1st. Non-refundable fee for students of NWSMTA teachers is $50; all others $65. Late applications deadline is March 15th; will require an additional fee of $15. Participants must be 18 yrs or younger. Elgin Opera's Fifth Annual Vocal Competition: Preliminary rounds held March 12 through March 19th, Kimball Street Theatre at The Rider Center, Elgin Academy Campust, 350 Park St, Elgin.
